We won't promise a same-day ceremony no matter what, because we don't control how fast Utah approves your license. Apply first thing in the morning and same-day is very doable. Apply late in the afternoon and it may roll to the next day. If the license doesn't clear in time and we can't marry you today, the $100 rush fee comes back to you in full, so waiting a day costs you nothing.

A 24-hour marriage, the way we run it, means your ceremony happens within 24 hours of Utah approving your marriage license. That's what rush scheduling buys, and when approval comes early enough, it can mean the same day.
The 24 hours count from license approval, not from when you pay, so the earlier you apply, the better your chance of marrying today. Rush adds $100 to the standard $420, for $520 total, and if we can't marry you inside that window the rush fee comes back in full. Without rush the ceremony is at least 24 hours after approval, and most couples marry within a few days of applying.
Same-day marriage license in Utah
Utah has no waiting period, so your license can issue the same day you apply. The application takes about 30 minutes of your time. You both fill it in from wherever you are, upload a government photo ID, and the Utah County clerk's staff review it remotely. Nobody has to travel to Utah.
Approval often comes the same day, sometimes within a few hours, but we won't promise it in minutes. Many applications get a manual ID review from the clerk's staff, and if they ask for a clearer photo, approval waits until you send one.
