Vowed and Clear – Terms of Service
Last Updated: July 3, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to Vowed and Clear! By accessing or using our website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”) as well as our Privacy Policy. These Terms govern your use of the vowedandclear.com website and the online wedding services operated by Vowed and Clear.
If you do not agree with these Terms or our Privacy Policy, you should not use our services.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding contract to use Vowed and Clear. By using our service, you represent that you meet these requirements and are legally eligible to marry. If you are under 18, do not attempt to register or use the site.
2. Our Services
Vowed and Clear provides online wedding facilitation services to help you get legally married virtually. Our offerings include:
Virtual Officiant Service
We connect you with a certified, independent wedding officiant who will perform your ceremony via live video and sign your marriage license or certificate. Officiants are independent contractors, not employees of Vowed and Clear.
Scheduling and Coordination
We use a scheduling platform (such as Calendly) to allow you to book your ceremony. We coordinate all aspects, including providing a Zoom video link for you, your partner, and any guests or witnesses.
Online Ceremony and Video Recording
Your ceremony is conducted via Zoom (or a similar platform). If selected, we will record the ceremony and provide you with a downloadable video file.
Marriage License Guidance
We guide you through obtaining a marriage license from a U.S. state (such as Utah). The license is issued by a state or county government, not by Vowed and Clear.
Document Handling
After your ceremony, your officiant will sign the certificate and submit it for registration. We help ensure you receive a copy of your official marriage certificate.
Note: Vowed and Clear is not a law firm and does not provide legal or tax advice.
3. User Accounts and Responsibilities
You may be required to provide personal information (such as full legal names) to schedule a ceremony or receive documents. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information.
- Maintain confidentiality of any login credentials.
- Notify us of unauthorized access.
You must not:
- Impersonate another person.
- Submit false or misleading information.
- Use our services for unlawful or unauthorized purposes.
We reserve the right to terminate accounts or refuse service for violations of these Terms.
4. Fees, Payment, and Refund Policy
Fees
Fees for our services will be listed on our website or communicated to you. Payment is due at the time of booking.
Government fees (e.g., the Utah County marriage license fee) are paid by you directly to the relevant government authority. We do not collect government fees, and their refundability is governed by that authority, not by this policy.
Payment Processing
All payments are processed by Stripe. We do not collect or store credit card or bank account details. By using Stripe, you agree to their terms and conditions.
Refund and Cancellation Policy
Our guarantee: If we are unable to perform your ceremony as scheduled for any reason on our side (for example, officiant unavailability, or a rush request we cannot accommodate), you will receive a 100% refund of all fees paid to us — no deductions.
Ceremony credit: At any time before your scheduled ceremony, you may convert your booking into a ceremony credit for the full amount you paid to us, valid for 12 months from your original booking date. Converting to a credit counts as a date change under the fee schedule below.
Date changes (rescheduling or converting to credit):
- Your first date change is free when requested more than 24 hours before your scheduled ceremony.
- Additional date changes, or any date change requested within 24 hours of your scheduled ceremony, incur a $50 fee to accommodate your officiant.
Cash refunds:
- More than 24 hours before your scheduled ceremony (or before a ceremony has been scheduled): full refund, less a $35 processing fee covering non-refundable payment-processing costs.
- Within 24 hours of your scheduled ceremony: 50% refund.
- After your scheduled ceremony time: no refunds will be issued regardless of circumstances.
- After marriage documents have been submitted to government authorities: no refunds.
Rush bookings: Rush ceremonies are by definition scheduled with less than 24 hours notice. Once we begin coordinating your rush ceremony, the rush fee is non-refundable and the ceremony fee falls under the within-24-hours refund tier above. If we cannot accommodate your rush request, you receive a full refund of all fees, including the rush fee.
Important: Services are considered fully rendered once your scheduled ceremony time has passed. We cannot offer refunds after this time, even if you later decide not to file your marriage certificate or change your mind about getting married.
To request a refund, ceremony credit, or date change, email [email protected]. Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5-10 business days. This policy applies to bookings made on or after July 3, 2026; earlier bookings remain governed by the refund policy in effect at the time of booking.
